Mae Jemison was the first black woman in space. She is an engineer and physician. She has broken barriers and became an example for little black girls all across the globe.

Elijah McCoy, is one of the greatest inventors for the culture. He has over 50 patents with notable inventions like the portable ironing board, water sprinklers and the automatic lubricating system for steam engines. Fun fact, the term “The real McCoy” is derived from people duplicating his invention and people saying they wanted “The real McCoy system.”
